Week 7 Type B entry

(In response to Ethan Gage's blog post Pizza Hut vs. Dominos) I read Ethan Gage's blog post titled "Pizza Hut vs. Dominos" recently and thought that it contained a good amount of food for thought (no pun intended). To me Pizza Hut is better. I base my decision solely on the fact that Pizza Hut offers a lunch buffet that is affordable and delicious. Dominos has made leaps and bounds when it comes to their advertising stratergies. Dominos recent commercials feature Dominos employees addressing customer questions, comments, and concerns. I think that that marketing stratergy helps the customer to feel as their opinions matter.
At the end of Ethan's blog he poses a question: as a consumer, how often do you base your decision off of the image of the company rather than the quality of the product itself? My answer would be no, I don't base my decision off of the image rather than the quality. I go by what has worked for me in the past and personal preferences. For example, Peterborough Pizza Barn in Peterborough, NH is by far my favorite pizza place (much better than dominos and pizza hut). Sometimes though good advertising definately makes me consider a product.
