Type B entry Week 2 (In response to Brooke Lacasse's blog)

I recently read a post from Brooke Lacasse's blog about how marketing is used in grocery stores. I too have become more aware of marketing tactics since beginning this course. I deffinately notice most of the measures grocery stores use to try to increase sales. I thought that it particularly interesting how things marketed to adults would be placed at eye level for adults and products marketed to children would be displayed at a much lower height to accomadate a childs eye level. I do believe that tactics used by grocery stores do work as far as marketing their products go. I have probably fallen for some of their tactics, as I always tend to buy more at grocery stores when I go into them hungry.

Marketing for the superbowl

The biggest television event of the year, the Super Bowl, is only twenty fours away. The Super Bowl this year features the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The Super Bowl is always a major economic event, it should be even more with two of the biggest media markets being represented in the game. The Super Bowl is estimated to generate 150 million to 400 million dollars for the host city's economy. This Year the Super Bowl is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marketing plays a huge role in the Super Bowl, not only is the game itself heavily marketed, but corporations from all over the world put substancial dollar amounts towards marketing and advertising for the Super Bowl, given the game's global importance. Hopefully it will be a good game and go Pats!!!!!
